‘Meditative photography’
From Lynn Brately’s photo show, entitled “Layers,’’ at the James Library and Center for the Arts, Norwell, Mass., Sept. 2-Oct. 10
She explains:
“I practice meditative photography and focus primarily on water and sky. I live near the Charles River, one of my places for quiet observation. Here are abundant layers: surface reflections and ice; turtles, fish and rocks below; birds, clouds, solar circles and the moon above.”
“The best camera is the one that I have with me,’’ she says, emphasizing the immediacy and accessibility of her creative process.
