The curator says:

“Through the methodical, time-intensive processes of dyeing, sewing, printing, and assembling, Kathleen Schneider creates sculpture, textiles, and prints that are labors of love, reflecting on our ever-changing world. Inspired by daily life, poetry, and treasured books, her work explores the relationship between personal experience and larger social and political histories. Using vibrant colors and shadows cast by the work, the artist investigates how humor and hope can exist alongside uncertainty and struggle, inviting viewers to consider how the current political landscape impacts our lives and communities. Schneider gives emotions, speech, and activism physical form, showing how personal reflection can become collective action.’’
