Can do on a kitchen table

If Nancy Was a Drawing by Larry Rivers(1972) (mixed media on paper), by Joe Brainard, in the show “Everyday Devotions: Gifts from the Alex Katz Foundation and Beyond,’’ at the Colby College Museum of Art, Waterville, Maine, through May 31.

The museum says:

The show “brings together more than forty works by 25 artists who have embraced collage as a medium or a conceptual strategy in their work. The exhibition features transformative gifts—ranging from traditional cut-paper collages to paintings, textiles, sculptures, and assemblages—from the Alex Katz Foundation alongside additional key works drawn from the museum’s collection. Emphasizing tactile sensibilities and material diversity, the exhibition foregrounds collage as both a vehicle for serious artistic inquiry and an accessible form of expression—one that can inspire creativity anywhere from the studio to the classroom to the kitchen table.’’
